Privacy Policy

RemoteMaster ("the App", "we", "us") lets you discover, connect to, and control TVs and streaming devices on your local Wi-Fi network. This policy explains what information the App collects, why, and the choices you have. It applies to the App only.

Information We Collect

Local network & device information. To find and control TVs on your Wi-Fi network, the App scans your local network and reads basic connection details (such as the IP address and device name) of TVs and streaming devices it discovers. This information stays on your device and is used only to send remote-control commands to your TV — we do not collect or transmit it to our servers.

Location permission. Android requires apps to hold a location permission in order to scan for nearby Wi-Fi devices on API levels below 13. The App uses this permission solely to enable local network device discovery — it does not read, use, or store your GPS or geographic location.

Media you choose to cast. If you use the Cast feature to send a photo, video, or audio file to your TV, the App reads that file from your device to stream it locally. Files you cast are not uploaded to or stored on our servers.

Usage & diagnostic data. We use Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to understand feature usage and diagnose crashes, so we can improve app stability and performance. This data is tied to an anonymous installation identifier, not your name or contact details.

Advertising identifier. The App shows ads through Google AdMob, which may use your device's advertising ID to serve and measure ads. Where required by law (for example in the EEA and UK), we show a consent prompt before any personalized advertising or non-essential data collection occurs, and you can change your choice at any time from within the App.

Push notifications. If you allow notifications, we use Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver them. You can disable notifications at any time from your device's app settings.

How We Use Information

To operate core features: discovering, connecting to, and controlling your TV.
To improve reliability by identifying and fixing crashes and bugs.
To understand which features are used, so we can prioritize improvements.
To show ads that help keep the App free, and to measure their performance.

Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging, Remote Config, Firestore/Realtime Database)
Google AdMob, with Google's User Messaging Platform for consent management

We do not sell your personal information.

Data Retention & Security

Diagnostic and analytics data is retained only as long as necessary for the purposes above, per Google Firebase's retention settings. We rely on the security practices of our infrastructure providers (Google Firebase, Google AdMob) and do not store your local network data or cast media on our own servers.

Your Choices

Ad personalization: manage or withdraw consent from within the App, or opt out of personalized ads in your device's Google Settings.
Permissions: you can review or revoke any permission (location, media, notifications, etc.) at any time in your device's Settings > Apps > RemoteMaster.
Notifications: can be turned off in device settings at any time.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the App changes. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated effective date.
